Terms of Use

1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the SailFuture Academy Senior Dashboard at https://seniors.sailfutureacademy.org (the “Dashboard”).

The Dashboard is provided by SailFuture Academy, operated by SailFuture, Inc. (“SailFuture Academy,” “SailFuture,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By accessing or using the Dashboard, the user agrees to these Terms of Use and all applicable SailFuture Academy policies. When required because a user is a minor, the user’s parent or legal guardian also acknowledges and agrees to the student’s authorized use of the Dashboard.

Users who do not agree to these Terms must not use the Dashboard.

2. Purpose of the Dashboard

The Dashboard is an educational and administrative tool intended to help authorized SailFuture Academy students and staff:

• Review senior-year and graduation requirements
• Track academic, project, internship, externship, or apprenticeship progress
• Submit assignments, documents, reflections, or portfolio materials
• Receive feedback, approvals, and status updates
• Review deadlines and school responsibilities
• Prepare for graduation and postsecondary planning
• Participate in other school-authorized activities

The Dashboard may not be used for unrelated commercial, political, fraudulent, illegal, or disruptive purposes.

3. Eligibility and Authorized Access

The Dashboard is limited to users authorized by SailFuture Academy.

Students may be required to sign in with an active SailFuture Google Workspace account. Users may not access the Dashboard through another person’s account or permit another person to use their account.

SailFuture Academy may determine, in its discretion, who is eligible to access particular information, sections, or features.

Access may end when a student:

• Graduates
• Withdraws from SailFuture Academy
• Is no longer enrolled
• Loses access to their SailFuture account
• Violates these Terms or school policies
• Is otherwise no longer authorized to use the Dashboard

4. Account Security

Users are responsible for protecting their login credentials and maintaining the security of their accounts.

Users must:

• Use only their assigned account
• Keep passwords and authentication information confidential
• Sign out when using a shared device
• Immediately report suspected unauthorized access
• Provide accurate information when using the Dashboard

Users must not attempt to obtain another person’s password, authentication token, session, or account information.

SailFuture Academy is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from a user intentionally sharing credentials or failing to take reasonable security precautions.

5. Acceptable Use

Users must use the Dashboard responsibly and consistently with SailFuture Academy’s behavioral, academic, technology, and ethical expectations.

Users may not:

• Access another person’s account or records without authorization
• Submit false, misleading, fabricated, or impersonated information
• Alter or attempt to alter records without authorization
• Harass, threaten, bully, intimidate, or target another person
• Upload malicious software, viruses, scripts, or harmful files
• Probe, scan, test, bypass, or interfere with Dashboard security
• Attempt to gain access to restricted systems, data, or administrative functions
• Copy or disclose confidential student or staff information
• Scrape, harvest, or automatically extract Dashboard information
• Use bots or automated tools without written permission
• Interfere with the Dashboard’s performance or another person’s use
• Upload material that is unlawful, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, or infringing
• Use the Dashboard to cheat, plagiarize, misrepresent work, or violate academic-integrity requirements
• Use Dashboard information for advertising, solicitation, or an unrelated commercial purpose
• Violate applicable law or SailFuture Academy policy

Activity on the Dashboard may be logged and reviewed for operational, educational, safety, and security purposes.

6. Student Submissions

Students may be permitted to upload or submit documents, writing, images, projects, plans, reflections, and other materials (“Student Submissions”).

Students retain any ownership rights they legally hold in their original work.

By submitting material through the Dashboard, the student grants SailFuture Academy a limited, nonexclusive permission to store, copy, display, review, evaluate, annotate, and otherwise process the material for legitimate educational, administrative, accreditation, portfolio, and school-record purposes.

Students must not submit material that:

• Belongs to another person without permission
• Violates copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights
• Contains malicious software
• Contains unnecessary sensitive personal information
• Violates school rules or applicable law

Students remain responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of their submissions.

7. Academic Integrity

Work submitted through the Dashboard must comply with SailFuture Academy’s academic-integrity expectations.

Unless expressly authorized by an instructor, students may not present another person’s work, internet content, or artificial-intelligence-generated material as their own original work.

Teachers and administrators may review submissions for originality, authenticity, completion, and compliance with school requirements.

8. Privacy and Student Information

Use of the Dashboard is subject to the SailFuture Academy Senior Dashboard Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains what information the Dashboard collects, how it is used, how it may be disclosed, and how students and parents or legal guardians may submit privacy-related requests.

9. Third-Party Services

The Dashboard may rely on third-party services, including Google and Clerk, for authentication, hosting, security, infrastructure, or other technical functions.

A user’s interaction with a third-party service may also be governed by that provider’s applicable terms and policies.

SailFuture Academy is not responsible for an independent third-party service to the extent that the service operates outside SailFuture Academy’s direction or control.

10. Official Records

The Dashboard may display progress summaries, completion indicators, deadlines, approvals, and other educational information.

Dashboard information is intended to assist students and staff but may not always constitute the school’s final or official academic record.

If information displayed in the Dashboard conflicts with an official transcript, student information system, signed school record, graduation audit, or formal determination made by SailFuture Academy, the official school record or formal determination controls.

Students are responsible for promptly reporting suspected errors.

11. No Guarantee of Graduation or Academic Outcome

Access to the Dashboard, completion indicators, or information displayed in the Dashboard does not by itself guarantee:

• Course credit
• Promotion
• Graduation
• Diploma eligibility
• Internship or externship completion
• College admission
• Employment
• Certification
• Scholarship eligibility
• Any other academic or professional outcome

Students must satisfy all applicable academic, attendance, professionalism, project, assessment, internship, expedition, financial, behavioral, and graduation requirements established by SailFuture Academy.

12. Intellectual Property

Except for Student Submissions and third-party materials, the Dashboard and its content—including its design, software, text, graphics, branding, databases, and functionality—are owned by or licensed to SailFuture Academy.

Users receive a limited, revocable, nontransferable right to use the Dashboard solely for authorized school purposes.

Users may not reproduce, sell, license, distribute, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit the Dashboard without written permission.

13. Monitoring and School Administration

SailFuture Academy may monitor and review Dashboard activity when reasonably necessary to:

• Operate and maintain the Dashboard
• Evaluate student progress
• Enforce school policies
• Protect students and staff
• Investigate misuse or security incidents
• Maintain accurate records
• Comply with legal obligations

Use of a school-provided account or school-operated Dashboard should not be treated as private from authorized school administrators.

This provision does not authorize unnecessary access or disclosure of student information.

14. Suspension and Termination

SailFuture Academy may restrict, suspend, or terminate Dashboard access when a user:

• Violates these Terms
• Violates school technology or conduct policies
• Creates a safety or security risk
• Attempts unauthorized access
• Misuses student or staff information
• Is no longer eligible to use the Dashboard
• Uses the Dashboard in a way that disrupts school operations

Serious misuse may also result in disciplinary action under applicable school policies.

15. Availability and Changes

We attempt to keep the Dashboard available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The Dashboard may occasionally be unavailable because of:

• Maintenance
• Software updates
• Internet or infrastructure failures
• Security incidents
• Third-party service interruptions
• Events outside SailFuture Academy’s reasonable control

SailFuture Academy may add, remove, modify, or discontinue Dashboard features when reasonably necessary.

16. Disclaimer

The Dashboard is provided for educational and administrative use on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, SailFuture Academy does not guarantee that:

• The Dashboard will always be available
• Every displayed item will be free from error or delay
• Every device or browser will be compatible
• Every submission will be successfully transmitted without interruption
• Use of the Dashboard will result in a particular academic or professional outcome

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights that cannot legally be waived.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, SailFuture Academy and SailFuture, Inc. will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising solely from the use or temporary unavailability of the Dashboard.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, or where harm results from conduct for which applicable law does not permit limitation.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute relating to the Dashboard will be handled in an appropriate state or federal court with jurisdiction in Pinellas County, Florida, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the Dashboard, school requirements, or applicable laws change.

Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
